This happens because the password, used for communication between DPM and protected host, expires. So, you must renew the&nbsp;password. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: times new roman,times; font-size: medium;\">To do this, you first have to change the password at the protected host:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: times new roman,times; font-size: medium;\">Navigate to folder <em><span style=\"font-family: courier new,courier;\">C:Program FilesMicrosoft Data Protection ManagerDPMbin<\/span><\/em> <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: times new roman,times; font-size: medium;\">Execute&nbsp;the command <\/span><em><span style=\"font-family: courier new,courier; font-size: medium;\">SetDpmServer.exe -dpmServerName &lt;HostName&gt; -isNonDomainServer -userName &lt;UserName&gt;<\/span><\/em><br \/><span style=\"font-family: times new roman,times; font-size: medium;\"><em><span style=\"font-family: courier new,courier;\">HostName<\/span><\/em> is the name of the protected host (it colud be a Netbios or a FQDN name)<\/span><br \/><span style=\"font-family: times new roman,times; font-size: medium;\"><em><span style=\"font-family: courier new,courier;\">UserName<\/span><\/em> is the user, the one who is used for communication between Host and DPM<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: times new roman,times; font-size: medium;\">After this, you must logon to the DPM server, start DPM Management Shell and write a command:<\/span><br \/><span style=\"font-family: courier new,courier;\"><em><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Update-NonDomainServerInfo &ndash;PSName &lt;HostName&gt; &ndash;dpmServerName &lt;DPMServer&gt;<\/span><\/em><\/span><br \/><span style=\"font-family: times new roman,times; font-size: medium;\">(also here <em><span style=\"font-family: courier new,courier;\">HostName<\/span><\/em> is the name of the protected host and <span style=\"font-family: courier new,courier;\"><em>DPMServer<\/em><\/span> is the name of the DPM server &#8211; FQDN or Netbios name). <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: times new roman,times; font-size: medium;\">Now you will be prompted for the password and you must specify the same password as in the protected host.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: times new roman,times; font-size: medium;\">That&#8221;s all. Now the servers will communicate without any problems.
