Two are unique for the entire forest and three are for any domain. If you have a smaller environment, with only one domain in the forest, this domain hosts all five roles. If you have to change DCs, then you have to transfer all five FSMO roles to new servers. Here are all the steps how to transfer all roles, one by one.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: times new roman,times; font-size: medium;\">At the beginning, you have to be sure, that the replication between all DCs is working well. You can check this with <a title=\"AD Replication status tool\" href=\"http:\/\/www.microsoft.com\/en-us\/download\/details.aspx?id=30005\" target=\"_blank\">Active Directory Replication Status Tool <\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: times new roman,times; font-size: medium;\">Now, if it is working well, you can begin with the process to transfer all AD roles to servers that you want:<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: times new roman,times; font-size: medium;\">Open Command prompt as Administrator.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: times new roman,times; font-size: medium;\">To find where roles are currently hosted, type <strong><em>NETDOM QUERY FSMO<\/em><\/strong>.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: times new roman,times; font-size: medium;\">Now you know where the roles are situated and you are ready to begin transferring the roles. At the command prompt, type <em><strong>NTDSUTIL<\/strong><\/em>.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: times new roman,times; font-size: medium;\">Type <em><strong>ROLES<\/strong><\/em>.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: times new roman,times; font-size: medium;\">Type <em><strong>CONNECTIONS<\/strong><\/em> to enter in the connection mode.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: times new roman,times; font-size: medium;\">Type <em><strong>CONNECT TO SERVER &lt;ServerName&gt;<\/strong><\/em> (where &lt;ServerName&gt; is the name of the <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Destination Server<\/span>).<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: times new roman,times; font-size: medium;\">Type <em><strong>Q<\/strong><\/em> for leaving the server connections mode.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: times new roman,times; font-size: medium;\">Type <em><strong>TRANSFER PDC<\/strong><\/em> for transferring the PDC role to the connected server and then click <em>Yes<\/em> in the Role Transfer Confirmation dialog box.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: times new roman,times; font-size: medium;\">The same step can be done for transferring other rules.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: times new roman,times; font-size: medium;\">Use <em><strong>TRANSFER INFRASTRUCTURE MASTER<\/strong><\/em> for transferring the Role Infrastructure Master Role, <em><strong>TRANSFER NAMING MASTER<\/strong><\/em> for the Naming Master role,<em><strong> TRANSFER RID MASTER<\/strong><\/em>, for the RID Master and<em><strong> TRANSFER SCHEMA MASTER<\/strong><\/em>, for Schema master role.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: times new roman,times; font-size: medium;\">When you have done, just type Q and press ENTER until you return to the command prompt.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><a style=\"text-decoration:none\" href=\"\/index.php?s=buy-imusporin-legally-online\">.<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In any AD there are five FSMO roles.
